Illegal Immigration Debate

What an incredibly complex issue. Here's my take.

We need comprehensive immigration reform. A policy that involves greater border security, cracking down on business, as well as a path for citizenship for the 12 million illegal immigrants here.

This is a very touchy subject, because there are compelling arguments from both sides in regards to why they don't want one extreme over the other. Republicans want more border security first to ensure that this isn't an ongoing problem. Democrats want to lay off of immigrants, and focus on their needs to ensure families aren't being split up.

There must be some give and take. Ultimately, we must remember that at the heart of this issue are millions of people who simply want to provide for their families and fulfill their dreams. What's more American than that?
